Dafri
Dafri is a Lexington-based artist and illustrator. He is known for combining collage techniques with interwoven fabrics to create playful, interactive works that beckon the viewer closer. His pieces often feature stunning contrasts between subject matter— predominantly black-and-white cutouts of African American faces and bodies—and strikingly colorful backdrops.
Dafri’s artistic process begins with his photography and ultimately ends with the cutting board, where a combination of collaging, painting, gold leafing, and fine tuning with the X-Acto knife brings his intricate works to life.
Project 270 - Kentucky

I participated in Project 270 because it was time for me to use my voice. Living in Kentucky, there was a lot of unrest due to the 2020 Breonna Taylor murder.
